This workshop is relevant to all trustee boards looking to improve or refresh their knowledge of the charity governance code.

Key concepts are explored in an interactive format with opportunities to discuss how the code is relevant to your specific organisation, and how to improve your compliance.

  • Workshop 1: An introduction to the Charity Governance Code (CGC): Why is it so important? This training will give your board an introduction to the charity governance code and build a foundation of understanding on the roles and responsibilities of the board;

  • Workshop 2: The Charity Governance Code in Practice In the second session your trainer will delve into more detail on some of the core elements of The Charity Governance Code, such as diversity & recruitment, safeguarding and board effectiveness;

  • Each session is 1.5 hours long, and can be delivered separately or together in a 3 hour session, online or in person.

  • Understand the role of the Chair (and Trustees and CEO).

  • Know about the key legal requirements and resources available for reading/reference.
