Learn the main principles of safeguarding adults and the key responsibilities of individuals that work with vulnerable adults, or their families

This course is for new staff and volunteers working in a voluntary sector social care environment who have not attended safeguarding adults course yet. It is also relevant to those who haven't attended this course in the past 2 years and need a refresher.

Course fees: £15 for non-profit organisations, or £35 for public and private organisations.

  • Learn safeguarding duties and responsibilities, and how to define an “Adult at Risk”

  • How to identify if an adult is at risk of being abused or exploited

  • The Care Act 2014 & the HCC multi-agency policy and procedures, and who to talk to if you have a concern

Learning outcomes

By the end of the this course you will be able to:

  • Understand Safeguarding duties and responsibilities arising from the Care Act 2014

  • Know the three key criteria of an adult at risk and the key principles of safeguarding adults

  • Identify different types of abuse and recognise symptoms or indicators of abuse
