The Building Effectiveness programme challenges and supports leaders

Building Effectiveness challenges and supports VCSE sector leaders to identify and take action on issues impeding their organisation's growth and long-term sustainability. It is a high-impact programme, enabling organisations to become more effective, resilient and strategic in their outlook. Participants are given the opportunity to test ideas in real-time, receive peer feedback and, perhaps most importantly, benefit from a shared camaraderie.

First launched in 2017, the programme has supported over 50 organisations in Hertfordshire to identify their development needs, make changes and improve capability.

Will Hobhouse

Since its inception in 2016 the Building Effectiveness programme has been funded and guided by Will Hobhouse. In addition to benefiting from his vision, commitment to the project and business acumen, Will has also opened up his beautiful home to host workshops and training events.

Building Effectiveness provides a welcoming and supportive environment for CEOs to be challenged as they develop as leaders, and Will's contributions to the programme have always had this at its heart. HCF Training & Development is very grateful for his part in the programme over the years.

Building Effectiveness 2022 coaches, Moreen Pascal and Vivianne Child

Moreen jointly coordinated project delivery with Viviannne Child, leading on the leadership workshops. She draws upon her training, management and leadership experience in business support services, local government housing and the voluntary and community sectors where her focus has been on leading social justice initiatives and workforce development programmes. Moreen is a Non-Executive Director of 2 housing associations and a Fellow of the Institute of Occupational Training and Learning. She is passionate about supporting not for profit organisations to lead well and be sustainable.

Vivianne gained an MBA before qualifying as an executive coach, with an NLP bias. She is also Chief Executive of the charity Tring Together which encompasses BusinessMart; the award- winning Hertfordshire business networking group. Her other work for HCF includes training and consulting on the Better Boards Programme.
