Do you know the power of a simple "thank you"? This online course, led by accomplished educator, author and humanitarian Elizabeth Gowing, will show you how to transform thank-you messages to donors into compelling stories that showcase your organisation's impact and inspire continued support.

Ideal for those who manage social media accounts and those who are a point of contact with private and institutional donors. No prior knowledge or experience needed.

We are offering this course fully funded to staff and volunteers from Hertfordshire's voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations.

  • Gain examples of creative thank you letters and social media posts that can build meaningful connections with your individual or institutional donors.

  • Receive support to come up with thank yous that will work for you, and that will invite a longer-term relationship through offering a way for donors to engage with the stories of those with whom your organisation works

  • Learn from experienced trainer Elizabeth Gowing - author of 7 books, and a freelance journalist with the BBC and others, who has founded or served on the board of 5 charities.

Elizabeth Gowing

Elizabeth Gowing is an accomplished educator, author and humanitarian with extensive experience in storytelling, community empowerment and cultural heritage preservation. A graduate of Magdalen College, Oxford, and the Institute of Education, University of London, she began her career as a primary school teacher and education policy professional in London before moving to Kosovo in 2006. Her training combines her passions for effective writing and for helping people who make the world a better place.
