Understanding what risks your organisation faces and how to minimise them

This online course is for trustees or organisations who are new to the concept of risk management or are relatively inexperienced in tackling the subject of risk, senior staff who may have to advise trustee boards on their risk management duties, or smaller organisations who have never really considered organisational risks.

We are offering this as a fully funded course for those attending from Hertfordshire Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
  • Learn why it is important that trustees should ensure risk management is taken seriously and reviewed regularly

  • Learn the methods of rating risk , plus which areas to cover such as governance risks, financial risks, personnel risks etc

  • You will be provided with some suggestions for suitable control measures

Learning outcomes

By the end of the this course you will:

  • Understand what areas of work you need to review

  • Understand how to rate risks in terms of how important they are to your organisation

  • Consider what control measures can be put in place to mitigate risks

HCF Training & Development reserves the right to issue a fee in the case of non-attendance of this course without proper notice. Within the 48 hour notice period your course place may be transferred to another eligible individual from your organisation, but not transferred to another course.

About your trainer

Robin Hodgkinson

Robin has worked in the voluntary sector for over 25 years organising and running training and consultancy programmes, covering VCS organisational and personnel management, personal skills, volunteer management and trustee board training. Robin has authored the national TrustElearning programme, which for many years was endorsed by the Charity Commission, as well as authoring a variety of online practical toolkits in subjects ranging from volunteer management to writing good funding applications. Robin has undertaken over 50 Trusted Charity Mark assessments ranging from very large to very small organisations.
